In 2014, WTC opened its 5th campus in Elk City. The City of Elk City donated over half a million dollars and 8 acres of land in order to have the Emergency Responder Training Center located in Elk City.
The Emergency Responder Training Center provides training for Fire, Law Enforcement, and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) across the five counties WTC serves , and across the state.
The five-story training tower has provided Firefighter 1 and 2 Training, Ropes Training, Confined Space Training, Search and Rescue Training, Vehicle Extrication, Big Rig and Structural Firefighter Training.
Law Enforcement training includes Active Shooter Training, CLEET Certified Training, SWAT Training, Medical Response Training, Security Guard Training for area law enforcement agencies and Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
EMS Training includes EMR, EMT, Advanced EMT and Paramedic. This training facility also provides Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support classes, and many CEU opportunities for area Emergency Medical Agencies.
The four-room classroom design and administrative offices provide a space for regular Certified Nurse Aid classes, Oilfield Safety Training, and a variety of other workshops impacting western Oklahoma.
The partnership Western Technology Center has with the City of Elk City is strong and growing.
